Data from the Meteorological Department's stations confirm that this June was the hottest in Cyprus' climate history. According to an announcement by the Meteorological Department, 43 out of 52 stations recorded the highest maximum temperatures ever observed in June since their establishment.

On the island's coasts, the average daily maximum temperature was 3.6 - 4.1 degrees Celsius above the normal June average for each station. Similarly, in the interior, the average daily maximum temperature was 5.7 degrees higher than the monthly norm, while the mountainous station at the Forestry College of Prodromos recorded temperatures 5.6 degrees Celsius above the normal.

The average daily minimum temperature for coastal stations was 3.2 - 4.9 degrees Celsius above the normal for each station. In the interior, it was 3.9 degrees higher than the station's norm. Notably, the daily minimum temperature at Prodromos was 4.7 degrees Celsius above the normal.

Specifically, the Meteorological Department reported that 14 out of 16 stations in mountainous areas (altitude 600m - 1650m) recorded the highest maximum temperatures ever for June since their establishment.

Additionally, all semi-mountainous stations (altitude 300m - 600m) also recorded their highest maximum June temperatures on record.

Out of the 25 meteorological stations located in lowland or low-altitude areas, only seven did not record their highest maximum June temperatures this year.
