EssilorLuxottica Introduces Innovative Prescription Glasses with Built-in Hearing Aids

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a groundbreaking pair of smart glasses designed not to change how users see, but how they hear. The Nuance Audio hearing glasses, developed by EssilorLuxottica, have also received CE marking under the EU Medical Device Regulation, making them officially ready for sale in both the United States and Europe.

Nuance Audio glasses function as prescription eyewear with integrated hearing aids. Equipped with built-in speakers and microphones, they are designed to enhance the volume of conversations while simultaneously reducing background noise. Users can control the glasses through a companion app or a remote control, ensuring a seamless and personalized experience.

The smart glasses are available in two shapes, two colors, and three sizes, catering to different style preferences. Early testers have praised them for being lightweight and comfortable, making them a practical solution for individuals with hearing impairments.

EssilorLuxottica has announced that the Nuance Audio hearing glasses will soon be available in the U.S. and several European countries, though the company has not yet disclosed pricing details.
