With The Support Of Christiana Cleanthous, The Donation Of A €21,000 Hypothermia Therapy Machine Strengthens The Nicu’s Care For Newborns In Need.

On Wednesday, June 4, the President of the “Mora Thavmata” Association, Mrs. Elena Megalemou–Triantafyllides, in the presence of Mrs. Marietta Mitsides and Mrs. Christiana Cleanthous, donated to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Archbishop Makarios III Hospital a specialized therapeutic hypothermia device for babies suffering from severe perinatal asphyxia, valued at €21,000.

This type of therapy is offered only in Level III-IV Neonatal Intensive Care Units, such as the Unit at Makarios Hospital, which serves as a national referral center for all of Cyprus.

The President of the Association warmly thanked Mitsides Company for its long-standing support and contributions to “Mora Thavmata.” She emphasized that for the eighth consecutive year, Mitsides, through its well-established Easter campaign "We knead with love for the miracles of life," significantly contributed by donating all proceeds from the campaign towards the purchase of this equipment. Since 2018, Mitsides has donated over €60,000 for the purchase of specialized equipment for the Unit.

Mrs. Megalemou–Triantafyllides also expressed deep and heartfelt thanks to the Association’s friend, Mrs. Christiana Cleanthous, who each year lovingly and successfully organizes a Christmas event at her home. The event is attended by many friends and supporters of the Association, and all proceeds are donated for the purchase of specialized equipment for the NICU in memory of her mother.

Attending the handover were the Association’s Vice President Marina Pilakouta, members Nikos Georgallas and Dr. Karaoli, the Chairman of the OKYPY Board of Directors Marinos Kallis, OKYPY’s Chief Operating Officer Irini Prokopiou, Makarios Hospital Director Dr. Minas, NICU Director Dr. Thalia Papadouri, OKYPY officer Christiana Xida, as well as doctors and nurses.
