All General Stores To Remain Closed on May 1st
As Announced By The Ministry Of Labour
On Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, all general stores falling under the scope of the Regulation of Store Operation and Employment Terms Law must remain closed, regardless of the fact that this particular holiday falls within the 10 days preceding Easter Sunday.
As announced by the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance, based on Article 16 of the aforementioned legislation, May 1st is considered a holiday for store employees.
Therefore, according to the Ministry, 'in case store employees (general or specialized) are called to work on said date, they should be compensated at a ratio of 1:2 for each hour worked, in addition to their regular daily wage'.
