Celebrating 60 Years: The Cypriot Ship Registry Event in Athens

The Journey and Future of Cyprus' Maritime Sector

An event commemorating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Cypriot Ship Registry by the Deputy Ministry of Shipping was held on Tuesday in Athens.

At the dinner hosted as part of the event, the entire Greek ship-owning community was in attendance, symbolizing their "tangible and consistent support for the Cypriot Ship Registry," according to a statement from the Deputy Ministry of Shipping.

In her speech, the Deputy Minister of Shipping of the Cypriot Republic, Ms. Marina Hadjimanoli, provided a historical overview of the registry's evolution and discussed the advantages of Cyprus as a flag state in maritime shipping. She also highlighted the vision, objectives, and priorities set by the Deputy Ministry of Shipping.

Furthermore, she noted the unwavering commitment of the Cypriot Government and the President of the Republic himself to further develop and strengthen the sector. This commitment includes bolstering the competitiveness of European shipping as a whole.
