Consensus Reached on Employing Foreign Workers in the Labor Market

Social Partners Agree to Address Labor Market Needs with Foreign Workers After Intense Discussions

Social partners appear to have reached an agreement concerning the employment of foreign workers to meet certain labor market needs. The final meeting of the social partners is taking place this morning at the Ministry of Labor. According to preliminary indications, it is expected that the positive outcomes of this consensus will be announced.

According to reports, after a period marked by intense disagreements, the social partners have finally agreed on a plan to staff parts of the labor market with workers from third countries.

In the past weeks, under the mediation of the Labor Ministry, meetings between the leaderships of trade unions and employers' organizations took place. A mediating proposal was submitted by the Minister, and the final positions are expected to be announced soon.

It should be noted that the mediating proposal is based on the establishment of a technical committee at the central level for cooperation between social partners. It also aims to improve the living conditions of foreign workers and update existing procedures for further rationalization.
