Cypriot StartUp MyStudentFlat Expands to Athens
The First Apartments on the Platform Are Now Available in the Greek Capital as the Company Continues Its Expansion Plan Across Cyprus and Greece.
The Cypriot PropTech start-up MyStudentFlat, the first specialized digital platform for finding and instantly renting student accommodation in Southeastern Europe, has announced the expansion of its operations to Greece, alongside its ongoing growth in Nicosia and Limassol.
The first properties joining the company’s portfolio are located in Athens, in areas with a strong student presence such as Kypseli, Mouseio, and Ilissia. These locations offer easy access to the capital’s largest universities, convenient mobility for students, and immediate access to essential city services.
MyStudentFlat’s entry into Athens marks the first step of the company’s expansion into the Greek market, which is considered one of the key pillars of its development strategy.
The MyStudentFlat platform allows students and their families to search, select, and rent modern, fully furnished and equipped apartments near the most popular universities entirely online. The fully digital process includes selecting the apartment, signing the contract electronically, and paying the rent and deposit online.
Tenants also gain access to the company’s Tenant App, which provides comprehensive support around the clock as well as access to a range of useful value-added services such as apartment cleaning, complete linen and household packages, and all-inclusive rent options.
Since its founding in the spring of 2025, the company has been steadily establishing its presence in Cyprus, offering student apartments near the largest universities in Nicosia. At the beginning of 2026, it also launched operations in Limassol. The company has also been selected as a strategic partner of Cypriot universities, providing quality housing options for their students.
In a joint statement, MyStudentFlat co-founders Dimitris Oikonomou and Elena Orphanidou said:
“Athens is one of the largest student cities in Europe, and we believe it will continue to expand in the coming years, particularly with the upcoming entry of private universities into the market. This is why our expansion into Greece begins here. Demand for quality and reliable student housing is very high, while a large part of the available property stock does not meet the modern needs of students.
Our goal is to offer an organized and high-quality student housing solution by leveraging technology and our philosophy of delivering a fully digital housing experience, which we first introduced last year in Cyprus and are now bringing to Greece as well. At the same time, MyStudentFlat continues to invest in the development of its award-winning platform and the services it offers, aiming to create a complete ecosystem around student housing that will act as the connecting link between students, property owners, and real estate investors.”
As part of its development strategy, MyStudentFlat plans to strengthen its presence in both Cyprus and Greece in the coming years by offering modern student apartments for rent in additional cities such as Thessaloniki, Patras, Heraklion, Larissa, and Ioannina.
The company is also exploring its medium-term expansion into other European countries, with Italy expected to be the next destination, followed by Spain.
To support the implementation of its business plan, MyStudentFlat will launch its first external funding round in the spring, conducting a Seed Funding Round through a share capital increase and the entry of strategic investors into the company.
