Cyprus–China Cooperation Agreement Sets New Direction for Aggregates Sector

Partnership targets sustainable practices, competitiveness and technological progress.

A new chapter of cooperation between Cyprus and China opens for the aggregates sector and Cypriot entrepreneurship, with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Pancyprian Quarries Association and the China Aggregates Association.

The agreement was signed during the event “Building Bridges for the Future of the Aggregates Industry – Cyprus and China”, held under the auspices of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).

According to the Pancyprian Quarries Association, the memorandum sets key objectives such as promoting sustainable and innovative practices, strengthening competitiveness and outward business activity, encouraging the exchange of expertise and technological progress, and creating new business and investment opportunities.

The memorandum is also “expected to contribute meaningfully to the sustainable development of the aggregates industry and to reinforce Cyprus’s presence on the international industrial and business map.”

As noted in the announcement, “this cooperation enhances the prospects for upgrading the aggregates industry in Cyprus and opens new pathways for business development.”

It adds that “China—which produces nearly 40% of the world’s aggregate output—serves as an international reference point due to its advanced environmental practices, use of modern technology, and high health and safety standards.”
