€19 Million Approved For Energy Efficiency Upgrades In SMEs
New Modifications To The "Save & Upgrade For Businesses" Measure Support Sustainable Growth Until 2026
With a budget of €19 million and an implementation period until December 31, 2026, modifications were approved for the support measure "Save & Upgrade for Businesses and Other Entities." The beneficiaries of this measure include new or existing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
According to an announcement from the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, and Industry, this measure represents the second call of the existing program. Its implementation required adjustments to comply with changes in the legal framework for state aid rules, specifically Regulation (EU) 651/2014 of the European Commission.
Furthermore, the measure targets energy efficiency improvements in existing buildings, as well as in existing facilities, infrastructure, and production units with high energy consumption, aiming to reduce primary energy consumption by at least 30%.
Additionally, within the framework of the measure, de minimis aid is provided under Regulation (EU) 2023/2831 of the Commission for non-profit organizations investing in non-economic activity spaces, and to SMEs under the new category of eligible expenses Measure Z - New Machinery/Equipment. This includes a potential increase in support for all eligible expense categories under Regulation (EU) 651/2014 for investments in mountainous and disadvantaged areas.
The budget for de minimis aid under this measure is €5 million, and such aid may be granted until December 31, 2030.
