Invest Cyprus Initiates Meetings with Local Authorities

Promoting Investment Projects for Foreign Investment.

A series of meetings with regional and local authorities to map, support, and promote investment projects open to foreign investments has been initiated by Invest Cyprus, with the aim of aligning efforts with local authorities to attract investors to the island.

According to an announcement by Invest Cyprus, the first meeting took place on Friday, December 6, 2024, in the Famagusta district with the participation of the Famagusta EOA and local authorities.

Invest Cyprus states that the meeting highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between local authorities and Invest Cyprus, aiming at the effective promotion of investment opportunities and the showcasing of possibilities for investment development in the free Famagusta area.

It also emphasized, according to Invest Cyprus, the empowerment of local government officials to meet the modern requirements of the investment landscape through digital tools.

The event opened with a greeting from Yiannis Karousos, President of the Famagusta EOA, who stressed the importance of investing in local development and the need for cooperation to create a sustainable investment environment. Following this, Marios Tannousis, CEO of Invest Cyprus, presented the services provided by the organization, including the Project Bank.

Additionally, Konstantinos Souroullas, EU Project Manager from the CARDET research center, presented the key tools of the European project BAS (Developing Digital Business Attraction Skills in the Local Public Sector), such as the Needs Assessment Report and the Business Attraction Skills Management Toolbox, which enhance the business investment attraction strategy of local authorities.
