Island Petroleum, a key player in the maritime fuel supply sector and the physical supply arm of Island Oil (Holdings), has announced a strategic expansion of its fleet with the acquisition of the bunkering vessel M/T ASTRAIA. The company aims to significantly upgrade the company's physical supply capabilities in Limassol.

According to Mrs. Elena Christodoulidou, Trading Manager and Executive Member on Island Oil (Holdings)’ Board of Directors, the addition of M/T ASTRAIA represents a crucial milestone in the company's journey towards providing efficient, reliable, and sustainable solutions to the global shipping community. "This significant addition to our fleet marks an important milestone in our commitment to delivering efficient, reliable, and sustainable solutions to the global shipping community," said Mrs. Christodoulidou.

With a carrying capacity of 6544 tons DWT, the M/T ASTRAIA stands out as a larger vessel compared to the existing fleet in Limassol. This increase in capacity is anticipated to bring about more efficient bunkering operations. "The vessel’s size and equipment will facilitate even more efficient bunkering operations, in our bid to ensure swift and reliable delivery of marine fuel oils," Mrs. Christodoulidou added.

Moreover, the M/T ASTRAIA complies with the latest environmental regulations, employing best practices to minimize emissions and promote sustainability in maritime operations.
