Last Minute Bookings Might Save the Day for 2024

Last Minute Bookings Might Save the Day for 2024

Data From Tour Operators Indicate a 10% Decrease in Tourist Traffic Compared to 2023.

According to the General Manager of PASYXE, Philokypros Rousounides, initial estimates show a reduced tourist traffic in 2024 by 10% compared to 2023.

He mentioned that these estimates are based on bookings from tour operators, which are lower compared to 2023. However, he added that there is still room for tourist traffic to reach the levels of 2023.

In particular, hoteliers and professionals in the tourism industry are pinning their hopes on "last minute" bookings, which can be made either by agents or by individuals themselves. At the same time, they hope that no new geopolitical or other factors will arise that could affect the market.

It should be noted that the war in Ukraine and the war in Israel have naturally affected Cyprus's major markets. Additionally, other problems, such as grounding planes for repairs and changing flight routes by airlines, also negatively impact the island's air connectivity.
