Each Regional Project Can Receive a Maximum of €300,000 in Funding
The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Kostas Koumis, has announced a new grant scheme aimed at rejuvenating rural, mountainous, and remote regions in Cyprus, with a total budget of €4 million, fully covered by the Resilience and Recovery Fund.
Mr. Koumis stated, “Each regional project can receive a maximum of €300,000 in funding, in line with the De Minimis Regulation.”
Applications for this scheme are open until June 28, 2024, at 12:00 PM, or until the budget is exhausted. Priority will be given based on the submission order of proposals.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting mountainous and rural areas. He added, “The newly announced grant scheme is a prime opportunity for local administrations and residents of these areas to implement long-envisioned projects.”
“These projects,” the Deputy Minister continued, “are expected to significantly contribute to the development of tourism in the inland and other covered areas.”
Concluding, Mr. Koumis said, “Realistically, this grant scheme or similar incentive programs can strategically diversify Cyprus’ tourism product and undoubtedly enhance the competitiveness of Cypriot tourism.”
