Papanastasiou Leads Delegation to Cyprus-Japan Business Forum
The Focus Will Be on Collaboration Opportunities in Sectors With the Most Favorable Growth Prospects for Activities and Strengthening Partnerships With Japan
Minister of Energy, Commerce, and Industry Georgios Papanastasiou departed for Tokyo, Japan, to lead a business delegation to the Cyprus-Japan Business Forum, co-organized by the Ministry of Energy, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Commercial Center of the Republic in Tokyo on Tuesday, April 9.
As announced, Minister Papanastasiou will present to Japanese businessmen Cyprus’ competitive advantages as an international business hub. The focus will be on collaboration opportunities in sectors with the most favorable growth prospects for activities and strengthening partnerships with Japan, emphasizing shipping, information and communication technologies, and services. Additionally, Cypriot businesses participating in the mission will have the opportunity to engage in pre-arranged meetings with their Japanese counterparts (B2B meetings).
During his stay in Japan's capital, Minister Papanastasiou also plans to have a private meeting with Japan’s Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry, Taku Ishii. Furthermore, he will visit the international maritime exhibition Sea Japan, held in Tokyo from April 10-12, 2024. The Ministry, in collaboration with the Deputy Ministry of Shipping, will participate in this exhibition with an informational booth, the announcement concludes.
