Announcement of the Zero Waste HoReCa Cyprus Champions 2025 Competition
Cypriot Tourism Businesses To Be Awarded For Their Efforts Towards A Green Transition
A competition promoting sustainable practices in Cyprus' tourism industry, organized by AKTI with the support of The Coca-Cola Foundation.
AKTI Project and Research Centre, with the support of The Coca-Cola Foundation, is pleased to announce the launch of the "Zero Waste HoReCa Cyprus Champions 2025 - Best Practice Competition", part of an ongoing initiative to promote sustainable practices in the hospitality sector. This initiative will recognize small and large tourism businesses in Cyprus for their actions contributing to a greener future.
The competition aims to encourage tourism business owners, managers, and employees to adopt measures that promote energy and water conservation, reduce waste, and implement environmentally friendly procurement processes.
Proposals will be evaluated based on four key criteria: environmental responsibility, social responsibility, innovation, and long-term sustainability/impact. A five-member panel of judges will assess the submissions.
Participation is open to members of the Zero Waste HoReCa Network, who are invited to submit their proposals and action plans outlining the best practices or infrastructure improvements they have adopted. Membership in the Zero Waste HoReCa Network is free, and interested tourism businesses are encouraged to contact AKTI for details on joining.
Applications must be submitted exclusively via Google Forms by April 27, 2025.
The award ceremony will take place in May 2025.
