Bank Loans to Cypriot Businesses Decreased
Total loans recorded a net increase of €336.6 million in October 2025, marking a significant annual growth rate of 10.2%, with household loans rising by €61.1 million and loans to companies falling by €34.5 million, according to deposit and loan statistics published by the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC).
At the same time, deposits by Cyprus residents increased by €421.2 million, with household deposits rising by €158.7 million in October.
Specifically, according to the CBC, total deposits in October 2025 recorded a net increase of €412.3 million, compared with a net increase of €670.2 million in September 2025.
The annual growth rate of total deposits reached 6.3%, remaining stable compared with September 2025. The balance of total deposits in October 2025 reached €57.6 billion.
Deposits by Cyprus residents increased by €421.2 million.
More analytically, deposits of households and non-financial corporations rose by €158.7 million and €206.9 million respectively. Deposits of the remaining domestic sectors recorded a total increase of €55.7 million.
Meanwhile, according to the CBC, total loans in October 2025 recorded a net increase of €336.6 million, compared with a net increase of €269.0 million in September 2025.
The annual growth rate of total loans reached 10.2%, compared with 7.9% in September 2025. The balance of total loans in October 2025 reached €26.8 billion.
Loans to Cyprus residents increased by €30.4 million.
More analytically, loans to households increased by €61.1 million, while loans to non-financial corporations recorded a decrease of €34.5 million. Loans to the remaining domestic sectors showed a total increase of €3.8 million.
