How Many Have Filed Their Income Tax Returns in Cyprus So Far – The Deadline Is Approaching

Cyprus Tax Commissioner reports progress on 2024 income tax submissions.

As of the morning of August 29, 2025, around 162,000 taxpayers—representing 51% compared to last year—had definitively submitted their Individual Income Tax Return (without accounts) for the tax year 2024, according to Tax Commissioner Sotiris Markides in a statement.

Specifically, Mr. Markides noted that by August 29, about 182,000 returns (approximately 56% compared to last year’s processed submissions) had been processed for the TF1 2024 form.

Out of these, around 162,000 returns were definitively submitted (51% compared to last year’s definitive submissions), while the remaining 20,000 are still under temporary receipt.

For comparison, by the final submission deadline for the TF1 2023 return, a total of 322,330 taxpayers had processed their return, with 317,400 submitting definitively.

Based on the Cabinet Decree of June 20, 2025 (ΚΔΠ 176/2025), the deadline for timely submission of the Individual Income Tax Return without accounts for the tax year 2024—and payment of the due tax—has been extended until September 30, 2025.

It is noted that the obligation to file an Individual Income Tax Return without accounts for the tax year 2024 applies to employees, pensioners, and self-employed individuals whose gross total income exceeds €19,500.

The tax return must be submitted through the TaxisNet system.
