July 2025 Breaks All-Time Passenger Record at Cyprus Airports, Says Hermes
Traffic hits historic high with over 1.65 million passengers at Larnaca and Paphos
Hermes Airports has announced that July 2025 was the busiest month ever recorded in the history of Cyprus’ airports, with a total of 1,653,880 passengers traveling through Larnaca and Paphos.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Hermes highlighted the milestone as a clear indication of Cyprus’ growing appeal as a travel destination.
“We are proud to announce that July 2025 was officially the busiest month in the history of Cyprus airports, with a record-breaking 1,653,880 passengers passing through Larnaca and Paphos,” the company stated.
From January to July 2025, the two airports welcomed 7.3 million passengers, marking an 11.4% increase compared to the same period last year.
Hermes attributed this strong growth to several key factors, including “rising demand from core markets such as Israel, the United Kingdom, Poland, Greece, Armenia, and Germany,” which collectively accounted for 70% of this year’s total growth.
The company also noted that 40 of the 58 airlines operating in Cyprus have improved their performance this year. Major contributions came from Wizz Air, Aegean, Cyprus Airways, TUI Group, LOT, and Air Haifa, which together drove 60% of the market expansion.
In the first seven months of 2025, Cyprus also welcomed five new airlines and six new routes, according to Hermes.
“This milestone reflects not only Cyprus’ ever-increasing popularity as a destination, but also the dedication of our partners, airline teams, and airport staff who work tirelessly to ensure smooth and enjoyable journeys for millions of travelers,” the announcement concluded.
