ARIS and Frederick University Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

A Strategic Partnership to Bridge the Gap Between Industry and Academia in Cyprus

A memorandum of understanding was signed between ARIS (A Really Inspiring Space) and Frederick University. As stated in a press release, the memorandum aims to facilitate and promote the transfer of knowledge and the identification of common ground in implementing initiatives around innovation and entrepreneurship.

"This collaboration strengthens our efforts to bridge the gap between industry and academia, reinforcing the bonds between the university community and businesses," the announcement noted.

Specifically, it is mentioned that the two organizations will collaborate to develop the entrepreneurial skills of Frederick University students and enhance innovation and entrepreneurship among youth through joint workshops, participation in EU co-funded projects, and other related activities.

"This memorandum of understanding signifies a shared commitment by ARIS and Frederick University to strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Cyprus. This will be achieved through knowledge transfer, exchanges, project execution, organizing joint events and visits, and networking opportunities among the ARIS team, startups, alumni on one side, and the faculty, researchers, and students of Frederick University on the other," stated George Martidis, a member of the ARIS Board of Directors.

Natassa Freiderikou, President of the University Council of Frederick, said, "Equipping our students with valuable skills, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, promoting innovation, and providing customized real-world experiences align with our student-centered approach. This approach empowers students to take ownership of their learning and future professional paths."
