Three Cypriot Schools Received the European Innovative Teaching Award 2024
The Schools Will Receive Their Prize at the Erasmus Days Event, On October 17, 2024.
Three Cypriot schools, out of a total of 96 schools across Europe, were awarded the European Innovative Teaching Award 2024 in the areas of Primary, Secondary, and Vocational Education and Training.
According to a statement issued by the Foundation for the Management of European Lifelong Learning Programs, in Primary Education, the Special School of the Red Cross Children’s Convalescent Home was awarded for the project “Learning new and innovative therapeutic approaches in schools.”
In Secondary Education, the Lanitio Lyceum was recognized for the project “Volunteering and Active Citizenship: from individuals to organizations.”
In Vocational Education and Training, the Technical and Vocational School of Education and Training in Larnaca was awarded for the project “Equal Rights, Great Opportunities.”
The three awarded schools will receive their prize at the Erasmus Days event, which will be held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus on October 17, 2024, in the event hall of the Presidential Palace.
It is noted that the European Innovative Teaching Award was established in 2021 as part of the activities to promote the achievement of the European Education Area and is an annual institution for the entire Programming Period 2021–2027.
"The aim of this institution is to showcase excellent teaching practices implemented within the Erasmus+ program and to recognize the work of educators and schools for their contribution," the statement emphasizes.
It is added that "the theme of this year's awards was 'Well-being in School,' with a particular focus on physical and mental health, the promotion of social and emotional skills, encouragement for adopting healthy choices, the creation of supportive structures in the school environment, collaboration, learning, and personal development."
