Government Advances Key Training Programs for Turkish Cypriots

375 participants attend initiatives focused on EU policies, digital skills, and sustainability

As part of its 14-point policy package for Turkish Cypriots, the Government of Cyprus is moving forward with the implementation of the Action Plan for Economic Development. These measures aim to provide Turkish Cypriots with access to human capital development programs and training sessions focused on the European Union's legal and institutional framework.

The Productivity Centre (KEPA), a key implementing body, continues to successfully deliver training programs tailored to Turkish Cypriot participants. The sessions cover a wide range of topics, including Digital Skills, Occupational Health and Safety, Green Growth and the Environment, and Quality Standards. To date, 375 Turkish Cypriots have participated in these programs, highlighting both the relevance and strong interest in these initiatives.

A notable milestone was the launch of a new training program on July 7, 2025, titled European Acquis (European Acquis Communautaire). The program received strong engagement and focused on core EU themes such as the Union’s historical evolution, institutional structure, decision-making processes, and the management of the EU budget. Particular emphasis was placed on current EU priorities like the Green Deal and the Recovery and Resilience Facility, both of which are central to the Union’s strategic direction.

Participants actively engaged with the material through questions, commentary, and personal insights. The sessions fostered dynamic discussions on the importance of aligning with the EU legal framework, the path toward closer integration, and the broader opportunities and challenges posed by EU policies. This level of interaction significantly enhanced the participants' understanding and the overall impact of the training experience.
