Eurobank Cyprus Appoints Andreas Petsas as New CEO

Andreas Petsas Succeeds Mr. Michalis Louis, Who Served as CEO of Eurobank Cyprus From Its Founding in 2007 Until 2024

The Board of Directors of Eurobank Cyprus, in a meeting held on September 17, 2024, in Nicosia, appointed Mr. Andreas Petsas as a member of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bank.

Mr. Petsas began his banking career in 1997 at Laiki Bank, where he held managerial positions in the Corporate Sector. In 2006-2007, he served as Deputy General Manager and a member of the Executive Board of the Laiki Group’s subsidiary in Serbia. He joined Eurobank Cyprus in 2007, initially assuming the role of General Manager of Corporate Banking. Until his appointment as CEO, he was serving as Senior General Manager.

He holds a degree in Business, Finance, and Economics from the University of East Anglia and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics. Additionally, he is registered in the Public Register of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) with Advanced Certification.

Mr. Andreas Petsas succeeds Mr. Michalis Louis, who served as CEO of Eurobank Cyprus from its founding in 2007 until 2024. The Bank's Board of Directors expressed its gratitude to Mr. Louis for his significant contributions over the years, helping establish and grow Eurobank Cyprus into one of the country’s leading financial institutions. The Board congratulated Mr. Petsas on his new role, wished him every success in his duties, and expressed confidence that the Bank will continue its successful upward trajectory.
