The PwC Foundation has recently implemented significant initiatives aimed at strengthening financial literacy and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among young people.
To mark Global Money Week 2025, which took place from March 17 to 23, the non-profit PwC Foundation coordinated the educational program “Financial Literacy” for the third consecutive year. The initiative was supported by Junior Achievement (JA) Cyprus and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Youth. This year's Global Money Week theme was "Think Before You Follow, Wise Money Tomorrow". Eleven PwC Cyprus mentors voluntarily participated in the 1.5-hour program, equipping secondary school students with essential financial knowledge and skills. The program falls under the "Education and Culture" pillar—one of the three key focus areas of the PwC Foundation—and was implemented in secondary schools across Cyprus.
As part of the "Youth Entrepreneurship" pillar, the Foundation, in collaboration with JA Cyprus, organised the Trade Fair of the Company Programme, on Wednesday, March 19. This event was designed specifically for teams mentored by PwC professionals. Thirteen teams from schools in Limassol, Nicosia, and Paralimni presented and sold their products and services. Notably, a total of 15 PwC mentors provided guidance and support to 28 teams, preparing them for the JA Trade Fair scheduled for the weekend of March 29-30 at the Mall of Cyprus.
Additionally, again as part of the "Youth Entrepreneurship" pillar, the PwC Foundation also supported the JA Cyprus program "Our Community", an interactive program focused on third-grade primary school students. This initiative helps children understand the concept of community and how people and businesses operate within it. By the end of May, 19 PwC mentors will visit primary schools, engaging with more than 400 students.
PwC Foundation Director Konstantina Logotheti expressed her enthusiasm for these initiatives, stating:
"All the programs implemented by the PwC Foundation are part of our long-standing commitment to supporting the local community. It is truly heart-warming to see the positive response from our people, who volunteer their time and embrace these youth-focused programs with great enthusiasm. They deserve a big thank you because, without them, none of this would be possible."
PwC Cyprus' commitment to volunteerism continues to grow. In 2024 alone, employees dedicated a total of 3,560 hours to voluntary initiatives. During the "Volunteering Days" week, 220 PwC employees participated in 13 volunteer activities, benefiting the wider community.
