Book Launch & Talk

Tekton Technical Bureau and Modernism in Limassol

PSI Foundation is pleased to announce two public  presentations of the publication TEKTΩΝ, taking place on 27  March 2026 at 19:00 at Wagmi Coffee in Limassol and on 28  March 2026 at 19:00 at The Shoe Factory, Pharos Arts  Foundation in Nicosia.

The events mark the launch of a research-based publication  developed alongside the exhibition Tekton Technical Bureau &  Modernism in Limassol, presented at PSI Foundation. The book  brings together archival material, newly commissioned essays,  and historical documentation, tracing the work of the Tekton  partnership; the collaboration of the architect Phoebus  Polydorides and the civil engineer Andreas Papadopoulos that  played a defining role in shaping the modernist architectural  landscape of Limassol in the decades following the  independence of Cyprus.

Expanding on the research presented in the exhibition, the  publication situates the work of Tekton within the broader  emergence of modernist architecture in Cyprus, exploring its  architectural and social significance. Through historical  analysis, archival investigation and contemporary curatorial  approaches, the book contributes to the ongoing discussion on  the legacy and interpretation of modern architecture in the  Eastern Mediterranean.

During the presentations, key contributors to the publication  will discuss the historical framework of the research and its  place within the ongoing discourse on modern architecture.  Design aspects of the book will also be addressed and the  visual language, structure and artistic approaches that shape  the publication will be examined.

The events will offer the public the opportunity to engage  with the publication, meet the contributors and acquire the  book.
