Through songs from Cyprus and beyond, accompanied by poetic texts from Cyprus, Greece, Sweden, Ireland, Germany, Spain, and France, the performance explores themes of homeland, peace, friendship, identity, and collective hope.
At the heart of the event lies the belief that culture can bring people together across borders while still honouring the uniqueness of each tradition. Performed by more than 150 children aged 5–12, accompanied by a live band, narrators, and dancers, the concert becomes not only a musical performance, but also a theatrical and emotional experience about belonging, coexistence, and the possibility of imagining a more humane future together.
The Art Exhibition will showcase artworks created by students from Early Years 2 (age 3) to Year 8 (age 14). Inspired by a variety of European countries, artists, and cultural traditions, students explored Europe’s artistic heritage through painting, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking, textiles, and observational drawing.
Among the exhibition highlights are works inspired by renowned European artists such as Gustav Klimt, Claude Monet, Paul Cézanne, Ton Schulten, Paul Klee, and Pablo Picasso, alongside projects reflecting cultural traditions including Portuguese azulejo tiles, Hungarian embroidery, Irish Celtic knots, Viking boat constructions, and architectural studies from Nicosia’s historic old city.
In addition to the exhibition and concert, the event will also offer a family-friendly atmosphere with games and food stalls such as live BBQ and traditional lokmades, creating a festive community gathering where visitors can enjoy art, music, and cultural experiences together.
“Europe in Colour and Song” reflects the school community’s commitment to cultural education, artistic excellence, and the promotion of European unity through creative expression, while providing a joyful opportunity for families and the wider community to come together.
Families, members of the public, and the wider community are warmly invited to attend this special celebration of student creativity and culture.
