The Municipality of Limassol is proceeding with the introduction of one-way traffic and pedestrianisation measures on sections of Independence Street, in the city centre, due to the Christmas festivities.

According to the Municipality’s announcement, the measures will apply on Saturday 13 and 20 December 2025, from 15:00 to 20:00, and on Sunday 14 and 21 December 2025, from 11:00 to 20:00.

Specifically, on the above dates and hours, Independence Street will operate as a one-way road from its junction with the “Pentadromos” traffic lights to its junction with Vragadinou Street, with traffic permitted in the northbound direction. It will also operate as a one-way road from its junction with Andrea Themistokleous Street to its junction with Athens Street, with traffic permitted in the southbound direction.

Pedestrianisation of Independence Street will be implemented from its junction with Vragadinou Street to its junction with Andrea Themistokleous Street.

The Municipality of Limassol notes that suitable measures will be taken to ensure uninterrupted access to the temporarily closed road network by the competent services (Police, Fire Service and Ambulances) in cases of emergency.

Finally, it points out that offenders of this notice are subject to the penalties provided for under the Municipalities Law, as well as the Limassol Municipal Regulations of 2006.
