Nicosia Gains International Recognition as a Rising Innovation Hub

Ranked Among the "European Cities and Regions of the Future 2025" by fDi Intelligence

Nicosia has received international recognition in the "European Cities and Regions of the Future 2025" ranking by fDi Intelligence, reinforcing its status as an emerging hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.

According to an announcement by the Municipality of Nicosia, Mayor Charalambos Prountzos emphasized that this recognition validates the city's efforts in fostering innovation, attracting investments, and enhancing quality of life for both residents and visitors.

"This distinction is a testament to our commitment to developing a city that promotes innovation, attracts investment, and provides a high standard of living. Nicosia is evolving dynamically, securing its place on the European map as a center for growth and creativity," Prountzos stated.

Nicosia ranked among renowned European cities such as Oxford (UK), Linz (Austria), and Geneva (Switzerland). More specifically, the city secured:

  • 2nd place in the category of Best Small European Cities for Human Capital and Lifestyle

  • 10th place in the category of Best Small European Cities for FDI Strategy (Foreign Direct Investment Strategy)

"This significant recognition highlights Nicosia as a city that continuously grows, creating a dynamic and welcoming environment for investment, innovation, and specialized talent from around the world," the announcement added.

The "European Cities and Regions of the Future" ranking by fDi Intelligence evaluates cities and regions in Europe based on criteria such as economic potential, accessibility, human capital, and business attraction strategies.
