Oscars 2025: "Anora" Dominates with Five Awards - Full List of Winners
Sean Baker’s Film Claims Major Categories, While "The Brutalist," "Emilia Pérez," and "Wicked" Also Shine
The 97th Academy Awards concluded at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, with "Anora" emerging as the standout winner. The film, directed by Sean Baker, won five out of its six nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Editing. Lead actress Mikey Madison secured the Oscar for Best Actress, marking a triumphant night for the film and its creators.
"The Brutalist" also made a strong impact, winning three Oscars, including Best Actor for Adrien Brody. Meanwhile, "Emilia Pérez," "Wicked," and "Dune: Part Two" each took home two awards.
While many of the results aligned with industry predictions, the night had its share of surprises. Walter Salles won his first Oscar for "I'm Still Here," earning Best International Feature Film, while Latvia’s "Flow" took home the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
