The journey there set the tone. Tucked away along the unspoiled coastline of Pissouri Bay, the resort revealed itself gradually, opening up to a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean, framed by a two-kilometer Blue Flag beach and a landscape that felt both untouched and carefully curated. From the very first moment, the setting did the talking.

What followed was where the resort truly distinguished itself.

The welcome was warm, but not performative. There was a genuine sense of ease in the way we were received, a balance between professionalism and approachability that felt increasingly rare in luxury hospitality. The team was attentive without being intrusive, present without being distant, creating an atmosphere that was refined yet relaxed.

This philosophy carried seamlessly into the suites. Spacious, elegant, and rooted in a subtle traditional aesthetic, they offered more than comfort. They felt considered. From the layout to the views, which stretched across the bay or the resort’s lagoon-style pool, everything was designed to create a sense of openness and calm, reminiscent of a traditional Cypriot village.

Small touches elevated the experience further. A welcome drink, thoughtful treats, and a guided introduction to the property signaled a level of care that went beyond expectation.

The experience quickly became immersive. A mixology session introduced the stories and craft behind classic cocktails like the Negroni, Cosmopolitan, and Espresso Martini. It was engaging and informal, setting the tone for an evening centered around food, atmosphere, and shared moments.

At Columbia Beach Resort, gastronomy was not an add-on, it was a defining element. Across its restaurants, from the refined Bacchus Fire + Raw to the more traditional Apollo Tavern, the culinary direction was built around quality, variety, and identity. Our dinner leaned into premium cuts, ultiple appetizers, and carefully paired sides, all delivered with exceptional service that felt both polished and personal. The menus reflected a clear commitment to locally sourced ingredients and premium produce, creating dishes that were both elevated and grounded in place. We were told that we were the first public group to taste the new menus!

And yet, despite the indulgence, the resort encouraged balance. The following morning offered a different rhythm. Fitness classes, access to fully equipped gyms, and activities such as squash and tennis were all part of the experience, reinforcing the idea that wellness and enjoyment could coexist. The Hébe Spa, spanning over 1,000 square meters, further complemented this philosophy, offering a calm, understated approach to relaxation and recovery.

Beyond the facilities, there were moments that quietly added depth to the stay. A small church within the resort grounds, adorned with distinctive artwork, offered a sense of place and cultural continuity, connecting the experience to something more rooted and meaningful.

But it was often the smallest details that left the strongest impression.

At Columbia Beach Resort, care extended beyond the expected. The resort actively looked after the local cats, covering their medical needs, providing food, and integrating them naturally into the environment. Each one had a name. Each one belonged. What could easily be overlooked became part of the character of the place. It reflected a broader philosophy, one that extended to nature, sustainability, and the use of organic, environmentally conscious practices across the resort.

It was this detail, more than anything else, that defined my experience.

Luxury here was not only about design, space, or service. It was about intention. It was about how a place made you feel, how it treated not only its guests but its surroundings, and how seamlessly everything came together.

Columbia Beach Resort delivered on all the expected pillars of a high-end destination. But it was the thoughtfulness behind it all, the quiet consistency in every touchpoint, that transformed the stay into something far more memorable.
