Cyprus Stock Exchange Records Significant Gains in First Session of the Week
Significant gains were recorded at the Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) during its first session of the week on Monday. The General Index registered a 3.65% increase, reaching 124.01 points, marking a historic high since March 2014.
The FTSE/CySE 20 Index closed at 75.11 points, reflecting a growth of 3.73%. The daily turnover amounted to €645,565.80.
Among the individual stock indices, only the Hotels sector experienced a decline of 1.79%. The Main and Alternative Market recorded gains of 4.63% and 1.31%, respectively, while Investment Companies saw an increase of 6.13%.
The stocks of Bank of Cyprus attracted the most significant investment interest, with a transaction value of €361,230.64 (a rise of 1.35% with a closing price of €3.00).
Following closely were shares of the Hellenic Bank with €122,772.72 (an increase of 7.18% with a closing price of €2.09), Logicom with €55,185.68 (a rise of 5% with a closing price of €2.52), Dimitra with €38,816.94 (a growth of 6.42% with a closing price of €0.58), and Salamis Tours with €19,010 (an increase of 6.67% with a closing price of €3.20).
Out of the traded stocks, nine experienced upward movement, three declined, and three remained unchanged.
The total number of transactions reached 256.
Furthermore, upon the request of Interlife Insurance S.A. (the "Company"), the Exchange decided to delist the Company's shares from the New Market, in accordance with the authority granted to it by Article 178(1) of the Securities and Stock Exchange Law of Cyprus and Paragraph 2.4.1.3 of CSE Law 379/2014 as amended.
The delisting of the above-mentioned Company's shares from the Exchange will be effective from September 1, 2023. The shares of the Company will be suspended from August 29, 2023, until their delisting.
It should be noted that, following the Company's request, its registry will continue to be maintained by the Central Depository/Registry of Securities (CDS) of the CSE.
