In September 2023, motor vehicle registrations surged by 35% to 4,607, up from 3,412 the previous year. Specifically, registrations of passenger saloon cars experienced a 35.9% hike, totaling 3,722 compared to 2,738 in September 2022, as reported by the Statistical Service.

For the January-September 2023 span, there was a 29.0% growth in total registered vehicles, reaching 34,280, compared to 26,581 in 2022. Within this category, passenger saloon cars saw a 29.8% rise to 27,499. Of these, 41.8% (11,487) were new, and 58.2% (16,012) were used. The rental car segment particularly stood out with a significant 38.3% growth to 4,811.
