Cyprus Airways Reports 30% Increase in Passenger Traffic in September

491 Scheduled Flights in September, Up from 294 Last Year

Cyprus Airways announced a significant 30% surge in passenger traffic this September compared to the same period last year. The airline successfully operated a total of 491 scheduled flights during the month.

In its official statement, Cyprus Airways shared that it transported a total of 48,560 passengers in September. This marks a substantial 30% hike from the previous year's figure of 37,427 passengers for the same month. Furthermore, the airline highlighted that it executed 491 scheduled flights this September, in comparison to 294 flights in September of the prior year. Despite a 6% decrease in flight occupancy compared to last year, the airline noted significant improvements in other metrics. The company recorded a 2% increase in passenger volume on its scheduled services and conducted 22% more flights.

Christos Limnatitis, Commercial Director of Cyprus Airways, stated, "After the company's remarkable performance in August, we maintained our positive momentum in September, albeit at a slightly slower pace. Over the past two years, our company's capacity has doubled, operating with four aircraft, including the two new A220s." Limnatitis further emphasized, "We are now focusing on boosting our occupancy rate."

Additionally, Paul Sies, the CEO of the company, mentioned, "During the winter season, we'll be serving various destinations with an expansive flight schedule covering Athens, Beirut, Tel Aviv, Yerevan, Dubai, Zurich, Milan, Paris, and Nice. This winter, we're offering a total of 254,000 seats in the market, reinforcing our commitment to ensuring the island's connectivity for both business and leisure travelers."
