Introducing Cyprus's First Non-Contact Digital Imaging Device for Pediatric and Infant Eye Disorders

A Milestone in Pediatric Eye Care

The Alkinoos Artemiou Foundation has brought to Cyprus the first non-contact digital imaging device for the pediatric and infant eye.

In its announcement, the Foundation states that this device, valued at over €50,000, has been delivered to the Cyprus State Health Services Organisation (OKYpY). It will be utilized for photographing pediatric ophthalmic disorders, particularly in children with oncological conditions in the head or in premature infants.

According to the Alkinoos Artemiou Foundation, this development means that young patients will no longer need to travel abroad for such examinations. Now, they can undergo the necessary tests at the Makarios Hospital.

The Alkinoos Artemiou Foundation, dedicated to children with oncological and hematological disorders, was established in 2021 in memory of Alkinoos Artemiou, who passed away from cancer on December 9, 2020.
