Cypriot Students Prepare for the 20th International Geography Olympiad
The 7th Pan-Cypriot Geography Olympiad to Select Cyprus's Representatives for the Prestigious Event
The Cyprus Geographic Association, in collaboration with the Physical/Geographical Inspection, is organizing the 7th Pan-Cypriot Geography Olympiad. This event will select the four students to represent Cyprus at the 20th International Geography Olympiad (iGeo 2024).
According to a statement from the Ministry of Education, students from secondary public or private education aged 16-19 as of July 1, 2024, are eligible to participate in iGeo 2024, to be held in Dublin, Ireland, in August 2024.
The selection of the four students who will represent Cyprus at iGeo 2024 will be made through a written examination. This exam will take place in Cyprus in early March 2024 as part of the 7th Pan-Cypriot Geography Olympiad. The four students with the highest scores will represent Cyprus at the International Olympiad. The exact date and venue for the 7th Pan-Cypriot Geography Olympiad will be determined and announced later.
It is noted that students chosen to represent Cyprus at the 20th International Geography Olympiad – iGeo 2024 must hold a Cypriot passport. Students are entitled to participate in the International Geography Olympiad up to two times. They will be accompanied by two Geography teachers who are proficient in English, the official language of the Olympiad.
