Nicosia has been selected as one of the intelligent cities in the European Commission's Intelligent Cities Challenge (ICC). In this context, an information seminar about the ICC initiative took place at the Nicosia Town Hall on Thursday, February 1, 2024.

According to an announcement by the Nicosia Municipality, “The selected cities will receive guidance and support from experts to develop and implement strategies aimed at becoming greener, more sustainable, and more intelligent.”

It is added that “the ICC initiative will help cities leverage cutting-edge technologies, thereby enhancing their economic competitiveness, social resilience, and the quality of life for European citizens.”

The seminar, as per the announcement, saw participation from representatives of academic institutions, auditing firms, companies, ministries, and other organizations.

The Nicosia Municipality participates in the program in collaboration with the Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) and the CYENS Center of Excellence.
