Three economic entities have submitted proposals concerning the tender for the procurement of advisory services for the Paphos Marina project in the Potima area of Kissonerga, according to George Mais, President of the Paphos Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In statements to Cyprus News Agency, Mr. Mais mentioned that these consultants will assist the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, as the Contracting Authority, in preparing the tender documents. He noted that the evaluation is expected to be completed in April, with the successful bidder being awarded the contract.
According to Mr. Mais, following a decision by the Council of Ministers, the Deputy Ministry of Tourism initiated an open tender process to secure expert services. The aim is to prepare the terms of the tender and provide advisory support to the Ministry throughout the competitive process, culminating in finding an investor for the development of the Paphos Marina project.
The deadline for the submission of proposals was December 18, 2023. Through the e-procurement system, bids were received from three economic entities. Mr. Mais pointed out that the Deputy Ministry of Tourism is in an advanced stage of preparation and expects, with the appointment of consultants by the end of 2024, to have issued tenders for finding the investor.
He also emphasized that the selected experts would be responsible for preparing the tender documents with the aim of finding a strategic investor for the project's development.
Additionally, Mr. Mais noted that according to studies conducted, the Paphos Marina is expected to attract various leisure boats and further increase nautical tourism, along with attracting similar investments.
