Cyprus to Host Prestigious Startup World Cup
The Winner Not Only Receives a $10,000 Prize but Also Represents Cyprus at the San Francisco Grand Finale, With a Chance to Win a $1 Million Investment
This year marks a significant milestone for the Cypriot entrepreneurial community as it hosts the renowned Startup World Cup for the first time. Organized by Aivitam Ventures in collaboration with Pegasus Tech Ventures, the competition opened its application period on March 25. It presents a unique opportunity for regional startups to advance to the global stage in San Francisco, competing for a substantial investment from Pegasus Tech Ventures.
The Startup World Cup, acclaimed for uniting leading startups, venture capitalists, and technology leaders, is now accepting applications. Startups from various sectors and stages of development have until May 12 to apply, free of charge.
The winner not only receives a $10,000 prize but also represents Cyprus at the San Francisco Grand Finale, with a chance to win a $1 million investment. Criteria for participation require a demonstrable connection to Cyprus, welcoming both local entities and those with Cypriot founders or team members. In a show of solidarity, Ukrainian startups are also invited to participate in the Cyprus regional finals.
The climax of this event, the final pitch and selection of the winner, will occur on May 28 in Limassol at the upcoming Future of AI Summit. Participants will present their ideas to global investors, partake in exclusive sessions with angel investors and venture capitalists, and network with Europe's leading tech professionals. The victorious startup will receive special recognition and prizes from event partners, alongside extensive media coverage.
