Limassol and Paphos Students Explore Maritime Careers in Workshops and Labs
The Conference Sought to Introduce the Young Attendees to the World of the Sea and Maritime Professions
During an educational conference held on Monday, the Deputy Ministry of Shipping, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education's Counseling and Career Education Service, provided 100 students an opportunity to explore the prospects of maritime careers. The event was aptly titled "Exploring the World of Shipping."
The conference took place at the Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) Naval Training Center in Limassol, under the auspices of Deputy Minister Marina Hadjimanolis.
Aimed at first and second-year high school and technical school students from the Limassol and Paphos districts, the conference sought to introduce the young attendees to the world of the sea and maritime professions.
The day was structured around five thematic units featuring experiential workshops. Theoretical presentations covered various maritime professions, followed by discussions that allowed students to engage actively and pose questions.
According to the Deputy Ministry's announcement, the conference concluded with simulation labs designed to deepen the students' understanding of maritime employment, offering them a taste of what working on ships and at sea involves.
