Christodoulides Meets Chinese Ambassador Over LNG Terminal Dispute
No Statements Were Made After the Meeting
President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, met with Chinese Ambassador Liu Yantao for two hours to discuss the differences between the Republic of Cyprus and the CPP Metron consortium regarding projects that will facilitate the arrival of natural gas in Cyprus. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Energy, George Papanastasiou.
No statements were made after the meeting.
It is worth noting that the Republic of Cyprus is currently in arbitration in London with CPP Metron, the company responsible for constructing the onshore terminal at Vasilikos. CPP has filed a claim with the Arbitration Court for additional compensation from the Republic of Cyprus amounting to €200 million.
