British Couple Celebrates 40th Visit to Ayia Napa with Special Honor

David and Willadene Young Receive "Ambassador of Tourism" Award

The Municipality of Ayia Napa honored a British couple who have visited 40 times.

In an announcement, the Municipality stated that British tourists David and Willadene Young were awarded the emblem of "Ambassador of Tourism" and a commemorative plaque in recognition of their 40 visits to Ayia Napa.

The ceremony took place today at the Municipal Hall, where the Cultural Officer of Ayia Napa, Maria Tofini, expressed "heartfelt thanks on behalf of the Mayor for their numerous visits to the area. Visitors play a crucial role in promoting Ayia Napa's tourism in Britain, as they represent and advertise it in the most practical and convincing way," she said.

She also noted that the couple "are now considered not just visitors but citizens of Ayia Napa."

It was also mentioned that the ceremony coincided with the couple's 43rd wedding anniversary.
