The Meeting Addressed Issues Concerning the Employees at the Larnaca Port and Marina
The planning for the transitional period at the Larnaca port and marina is progressing smoothly, as was noted during a coordination meeting at the Ministry of Labor, which began at 10:00 AM and lasted about two hours. According to sources from the Ministry, the meeting addressed issues concerning the employees at the Larnaca port and marina, as well as the progress of the works following the termination of the contract with the contractor company.
According to the same sources, the meeting was attended by the Minister of Labor and Social Insurance, Yiannis Panayiotou, and the Minister of Transport, Communications, and Works, Alexis Vafeadis, along with officials from both Ministries, as well as the Chairman of the Cyprus Ports Authority (CPA), Zeno Apostolou, with members of its Board of Directors, managerial staff, and representatives of the CPA employees' trade unions.
During the morning meeting, it was determined that the planning for the transitional period is proceeding smoothly and that the works at the port and marina are progressing as scheduled. Additionally, the labor issues of the employees of the former contractor company are being managed in accordance with labor laws to protect their rights and ensure the continuity of their employment, as the same sources report.
