The Cyprus Stock Exchange Faces Intense Pressure
General Index Drops Over 2%
The General Index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange (ΧΑΚ) is down significantly by 2.25% at 12:17 pm, reaching 160 points (160.01 points). The FTSE/CySE 20 Index is also experiencing significant losses of 2.26%, currently at 97.28 points. The value of transactions is at €493,016.
Looking at individual market indices: the Main Market falls 2.73%, the Alternative Market drops 0.19%, and the Investment Market dips 1.40%. The Hotels Index remains unchanged.
The shares attracting the most investment interest are Bank of Cyprus (down 4.10% with a trading volume of €452,254), Hellenic Bank (down 3.03% with €23,068), Demetra Investments (down 1.62% with €11,147), Logicom (down 1.25% with €7,976) and Petrolina (Holdings) (down 2.27% with €3,639).
Out of the traded stocks, 2 are up, 5 are down, and 2 remain unchanged. There are only 82 transactions.
It's important to note that trading in Hellenic Bank shares was suspended until 11:30 am to allow time for informing investors about the public offer made by Eurobank S.A. This offer aims to acquire up to 100% of the issued share capital of Hellenic Bank.
