Cyprus Approves Second Grant Scheme for New Business Activities
The Council of Ministers approved the second announcement of the Grant Scheme for the Enhancement of New Business Activities in areas within the British Bases, following a proposal by the Minister of Energy, Commerce, and Industry, Giorgos Papanastasiou.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, and Industry, the Scheme, designed to ensure equal treatment of the Republic’s citizens, aims to develop, support, and promote entrepreneurship. It focuses on specific population groups, such as young people and women, who wish to engage in business activities in the fields of manufacturing, services, and tourism, leveraging their knowledge, experience, training, and talents.
The grant intensity will be 70% for young men and women aged 18-29, while for men aged 30-50 and women aged 30-55, the intensity will be 60%. The grant is calculated based on the cost of eligible investment expenses (equipment, special installations, construction, purchase and renovation/refurbishment of building spaces, promotion, and other expenses), with a maximum eligible budget per enterprise of €120,000.
The total budget allocated for the needs of the second announcement of the Scheme amounts to €500,000 and comes from the state budget.
Interested parties can obtain the Scheme guide, which includes all details, a list of required documents, and other necessary forms or papers, from the Ministry’s website, specifically from the website of the Industry and Technology Service.
It should be noted that applications/proposals from eligible beneficiaries will be submitted only through the electronic grant schemes system of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, and Industry, within a specific period to be defined in the relevant call for proposals, which will be announced in the coming period.
