AWE 2024: Transformative Program for Cypriot Women Entrepreneurs

Applications for the 2024 Programme Are Now Open Until Sunday, 18 August

CyprusInno, in collaboration with the Embassy of the United States of America and with the support from Chevron announces the launch of the 2024 Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE). This transformative four-month programme, conducted in English and commencing in early September, offers aspiring and established women entrepreneurs in Cyprus a unique opportunity to propel their business ambitions at no cost.

Whether participants are launching a new venture or seeking to scale an existing business, AWE provides essential support tailored to every stage of their entrepreneurial journey. Upon completion, participants earn a prestigious certificate and join a global network of AWE alumni, fostering ongoing connections and collaborations worldwide.

Returning for its second year in Cyprus, the programme integrates localised, hands-on mentoring and training sessions with the DreamBuilder online platform. Developed in partnership with Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management and Freeport-McMoRan, DreamBuilder equips participants with foundational business skills such as strategic planning, marketing, and financial management. Practical application of these skills is facilitated through engagement with local business mentors and the esteemed U.S. Exchange Alumni network.

Scheduled from September to December 2024, AWE Cyprus will immerse participants in a blend of in-person workshops, virtual training modules, and firsthand insights from successful Cypriot women entrepreneurs. This holistic approach aims to nurture entrepreneurial talent, foster innovation, and promote sustainable business growth across Cyprus.

Founded in 2019, the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs is a program of the Educational and Cultural Affairs Bureau of the U.S. Department of State. It equips women with the knowledge, networks, and access they need to launch and scale successful businesses. By promoting women’s economic opportunities and ensuring women have the capabilities and resources needed to participate in the economy, the AWE programme directly supports the U.S. National Strategy on Gender Equity and Equality.

Implemented in nearly 100 countries, AWE has supported an estimated 25,000 women entrepreneurs around the world to grow their businesses and reach their full economic potential.

Applications for the 2024 programme are now open until Sunday, 18 August. For detailed information and to apply, awe.cyprusinno.com or contact [email protected].
