Former Minister Marios Demetriades Charged in Cyprus Investment Program Case
Marios Demetriades Denies Allegations
A case related to citizenships granted under the Cyprus Investment Program was filed on Friday at the Nicosia District Court, with former Minister of Transport, Communications, and Works, Marios Demetriades, among the accused.
Marios Demetriades was appointed Minister of Communications and Works in the government of Nicos Anastasiades on March 14, 2014. In 2015, during his tenure, the ministry was renamed the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Works, a position he held until February 28, 2018.
In a post on his personal Facebook page, the former Minister referred to a "pre-determined targeting" and "false claims and malicious accusations." He also mentioned a "distortion of reality," expressing his complete trust in the justice system.
