EIT Community Ignite NEB Hackathon Comes to Cyprus
Applications Now Open For Social Innovators to Tackle Urban Challenges and Celebrate New European Bauhaus Values.
Nicosia, September 11, 2024 - CyprusInno (Powered by SocialTech Lab), in collaboration with Kimitisik, announces its official open call for the EIT Community Ignite NEB (New European Bauhaus) Hackathon Cyprus. The hackathon, which is set to take place from November 8-10, 2024, will bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, students, and community advocates from across Cyprus to create innovative solutions that address pressing urban challenges.
To immerse participants in the context and celebrate NEB values, the 3-day event will commence with an opening ceremony on the evening of 8 November at Gardens of the Future, a New European Bauhaus Prize Winner in 2022. The hackathon will follow from 9-10 November at The Base by CyprusInno.
Over three days of intense collaboration and innovation in Cyprus, participants will engage in ideation sessions that prioritize social understanding, developing business models for social interventions and tackle urban challenges proposed by local stakeholders (challenge owners). Two winning teams will be granted up to €10,000 each towards prototyping and mentoring to help turn their ideas into reality.
A series of online pre-hackathon info sessions and interactive workshops will be held on 7 October 2024 and 14 October 2024 to prepare participants and educate the broader public. The sessions will cover NEB values, hackathon concepts, building strong teams, effective ideation, and pitching.
Applications for the hackathon will be open until the 31st of October 2024, 23:59 EET. For more detailed information about the programme, each challenge, and to register for the hackathon and the webinars, visit neb.cyprusinno.com or contact [email protected].
