The Republican Turkish Party (CTP) has emerged as the leading party in a recent poll conducted by the Center for Migration, Identity, and Rights Studies (CMIRS) in the occupied areas of Cyprus. The poll, published on the "Kıbrıs Postası" website, indicates a significant shift in the political landscape of the occupied regions.

Specifically, the CTP secured 36.79% of the vote, with the National Unity Party (UBP) following closely at 35.16%. Notably, the percentage of undecided voters stands at 5.69%. The Communal Democracy Party (TDP) ranks fifth with 4.47%.

CMIRS Director Mine Yücel stated that this is the first time in a long period that the CTP has led in the polls. This trend has been observed since March 2024 and was confirmed in subsequent surveys conducted in June and September of the same year.

Although no candidates have officially been declared for the upcoming presidential election, the survey results reflect a political landscape similar to that of the party distribution. The current poll suggests that CTP's Erhürman holds a slight lead over other potential candidates. It's anticipated that recent developments in the Cyprus issue, particularly following the dinner in New York, may affect future election outcomes.

The poll, which involved face-to-face interviews with 500 participants, aimed to assess political, social, and personal confidence levels, as well as the happiness perceptions of Turkish Cypriots.
