Sklavenitis Cyprus Finalizes Agreement with Papantoniou Supermarkets

Expansion Ensures Job Security and Enhances Presence Across Cyprus

Sklavenitis Cyprus has signed the final agreement with Papantoniou Supermarkets, following approval by the Cyprus Commission for the Protection of Competition.

Under the agreement, Sklavenitis Cyprus will now employ 2,350 workers, fully securing all 769 jobs from Papantoniou Supermarkets. The network will now consist of 27 stores in total, including nine in Nicosia, eight in Limassol, seven in Paphos, two in Larnaca, and one in Paralimni.

According to sources close to the company, renovation work on Papantoniou stores will begin in the coming period and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. The goal is to ensure that consumers in Cyprus receive the best possible service and have access to a wide variety of high-quality products at the lowest prices.

It should be noted that Sklavenitis first entered the Cypriot market in 2017, as part of the rescue agreement for Marinopoulos, assuming control of 18 of the company's stores in Cyprus.
