Construction Sector in Cyprus Grows by 4.7% in First Half of 2024

Production and Producer Prices See Annual Increases According to Statistical Service

The construction sector in Cyprus recorded a 4.7% growth in production during the first half of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, while producer prices increased by 4.6% year-on-year, according to the Statistical Service of Cyprus.

In the second quarter of 2024, the Construction Production Index rose to 119.80 points (base year 2021=100.00), reflecting a 4.8% increase compared to the second quarter of 2023.

For January–June 2024, the index showed a 4.7% increase, underscoring the sector’s steady performance.

Additionally, the Producer Price Index for Construction reached 119.82 points in Q2 2024, marking a 1.1% increase compared to the first quarter of the year and a 5.3% increase compared to the same quarter in 2023.

In 2023, construction production had grown by 6.04% compared to 2022, while producer prices rose by 5.94% over the previous year. The latest data highlights the continued upward trend in both production and pricing within the sector.
