Cyprus Develops Tool to Combat Phishing Websites

Digital Security Authority Introduces 'Check My Link' for Safer Internet Use

Cyprus’ Digital Security Authority (DSA) announced on Wednesday the launch of an innovative platform designed to detect potential phishing websites and protect internet users.

The tool, named "Check My Link," allows users to verify whether a website is safe or potentially a scam, the Office of the Communications Commissioner explained in a statement. By entering a website’s URL, users can determine its safety status and, if necessary, report malicious websites directly to the Digital Security Authority. This is done through the platform’s "Report Malicious URL" button.

The DSA highlighted that this tool not only enables users to safeguard themselves from potential scams and financial losses but also contributes to protecting the broader online community. “This action strengthens cybersecurity efforts, making the internet safer for everyone,” the statement emphasized.
